New Year Brings New Leadership to Chicago Networking Group

Mark Stedman - Friday January 24, 2020

The Business Executives Association of Chicago is kicking off the new year with a new president as Roscoe President Jim Buik ends a two-year term in the group’s lead role.

Newly elected BEA president and Zynk30 marketing agency CEO Brian Kuszynski says he wants to focus on growing the organization’s reach, especially among minority and women-owned businesses and business groups.

Founded in 1941, the BEA is a group of Chicago business owners and leaders committed to helping each other develop and grow their businesses through mentoring, networking and educational programming.

Kuszynski has been a member of the BEA for nearly 10 years and a board member for the past eight years. A one-time Roscoe marketing intern and later project manager, Kuszynski was introduced to the group by Buik and has also served as the organization’s vice president of membership.

Meet Mentors Who Can Help Grow Your Business

“The BEA is extremely relationship-driven,” Kuszynski said. Members have access to an incredible depth of business experience, Kuszynski said, noting that some members have 40 and even 50 years of expertise to share. “BEA helped grow my business,” he said.

The group’s members lead a broad array of mostly B2B businesses including financial, insurance, technology and real estate companies.

The organization hosts a monthly members’ meeting at East Bank Club featuring guest speakers, roundtable discussions, a variety of educational programs and an opportunity for members to share insights. Under Buik’s leadership, the group also added a quarterly “pillars” meeting where a designated member presents a deeper dive into a specific business topic.

A second meeting is held at various locations around the city, giving members the chance to discover local eateries like the Green Tomato Café in Lawndale, the site of one recent gathering.

BEA members also participate in an annual day of service to benefit various community organizations.
