Roscoe CEO Jim Buik has long believed that quality control is built around discipline, collaboration and a shared commitment to continuous improvement and professionalism. Beyond his role as CEO, it’s an approach that Buik carries over into his role as an industry leader.
This month he steps in as 64th chairman of the TRSA, the national trade organization of the linen, uniform and facility services industry.
At Roscoe, we have deep ties to the TRSA, which has long helped to nurture industry leadership and collaboration.
Sustainability, Continuous Improvement and Leadership Development Among Priorities
Buik’s priorities for the two-year term that began last month at the annual conference in Napa, Calif., mirror the priorities that he has staked out for our company over the years: promotion of environmentally sustainable practices, a disciplined approach to measurable improvement and the sustainability of family businesses with practices that identify and nurture the next generation of leadership.
Buik is a strong believer in third-party assessment and measurable goals for improvement. It’s why we conduct rigorous customer satisfaction surveys and undergo evaluation for our environmental processes and the cleanliness of our garments. It’s why we put ourselves through the paces required to achieve IS0 900:2015 certification of our processes and OSHA’s highest stamp of approval for our safety efforts.
Work Uniform Excellence: See What High Standards Look Like in Action
At Roscoe, we want to set the standard for industry best practices – and then some. As TRSA Chairman, Buik wants to help promote the same sort of bar-raising practices across the industry. Another important part of his agenda is focused on technological improvements.
After presiding over the installation of a state-of-the-art sorting system at Roscoe last year, Buik would like to see more collaboration to spur modernization across the industry.
It's an agenda as ambitious as the one Buik sets for Roscoe every day: We want to exceed our customers' expectations at every step of the process.
If that sounds like the kind of company you'd like to have as your work uniform partner, give us a call and see what a commitment to continuous improvement looks like in action.
