Roscoe is very proud to have our entire operations ISO 9001:2008 Certified as it is something that is arduous, requiring detailed documentation of our processes, but very valuable. It’s extremely beneficial for the uniform services company and our customers as these standards ensure our products and service consistently meet your requirements and quality is continuously improved.
The Chicago mat company recently completed an external ISO audit (one of two per year) in which we had zero non-conformances. To prepare for the external audit the uniform company conducts two internal audits per year as well. During the internal audit the leadership team inspects different operating areas to identify efficiencies and opportunities for improvements. Our most recent audits focused on Production and Service departments.
This means that management went on route, delivered uniforms, placed mats, loaded washers, rolled mats and so forth. We have also audited our communication system to make sure response time is within an hour, that calls are being routed to the correct person and that incoming emails are not being lost. The objective is to focus on Roscoe’s operations from a customer point of view to determine where the uniform company can provide better service and higher quality merchandise.
Once the internal audit is completed a management review meeting is held were the leadership team reviews corporate and management objectives to ensure they correlate, evaluates customer satisfaction indexes, discuss the results from the internal audit and set objectives for the coming year. These audits have helped the mat company find a plethora of opportunities throughout the years and has continued to move the company forward.
During the external audit an in-depth assessment of the internal audit and of different areas of the company are completed throughout the day. During the inspection, two main goals are focused upon: if Roscoe’s processes allow for continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. The uniform company is proud to say that we had no issues with either and are constantly striving for both goals.
Being ISO 9001: 2008 certified gives the uniform services company a way to stay focused on the customer and issues that may arise, prioritizing customer satisfaction and analyzing our processes to determine if there is room for improvement. Customers can also be assured that it is a consistent process, evaluated periodically and that any feedback regarding service and processes is appreciated and monitored. Furthermore, if a problem does arise you can be confident that corrective action will be taken to identify the root cause of the problem, a requirement of ISO.
