The tornadoes that struck the Midwest last Sunday hit too close to home with at least a dozen Illinois counties declared as state disaster areas. Images of overturned cars, homes reduced to rubble, trees ripped from their roots and residents searching for their belongings through debris caused this Chicago mat company to donate to the Heart of Illinois United Way Tornado Relief. We hope our contribution can provide some relief and aid to all the individuals affected by the storms.
Roscoe is, and has always been, a supporter of local causes in the community we serve. The Chicago mat company has resided at its current location in the Lawndale area since 1926 and has worked hard to give back to its residents. Manifested through hosting blood drives, employing and donating to Job One (a Rotary Club of Chicago-founded program that finds employment for kids in city schools), serving on community boards and setting up a scholarship fund for Elmhurst College.
The Chicago mat company’s primary beneficiary of its charity efforts is United Way which focuses on financial stability, access to healthcare and education assistance. Roscoe Team Members have maintained a 100% participation level for United Way since 1987 – placing us in the highest per capita donor category among Chicago employers.
With the holiday season upon us, we want to spread cheer and joy to the less fortunate by participating in Angel Tree. Through this program, each Team Member receives a “tag” with the wish or desire of a child with an incarcerated parent. Those gifts are then purchased and delivered to the children of those families in need.
