Any work uniform provider can tell you that their uniforms are clean.
But ordinary clean doesn’t make the grade for industries involved in the production of food or health products. And it doesn’t make the grade at Roscoe either.
We work with a lot of businesses in the food industry. Our processes adhere to federal hygiene standards known as Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), which impose strict regulations for the removal of bacteria and the prevention of cross contamination among garments.
When the Textile Rental Services Association (TRSA) developed criteria for a new level of hygienic certification, we saw an opportunity to put our processes under the microscope and see if we could raise the bar even higher. And we did.
Holding Ourselves to a Higher Standard
Following a final inspection on July 27 that included third-party microbial testing of garments, we were notified that Roscoe had met all the criteria for Hygienically Clean certification.
Production Team Leader Miriam Avila said the effort was a great opportunity to put Roscoe’s already high standards to the test and identify places where we could improve. While Roscoe was already practicing the quarterly microbial testing that Hygienically Clean certification requires, other things, like process logs and sign-off procedures, were improved under the TRSA program.
And Avila said, it was an exercise that served to further ingrain the practices that are part of the company culture. “We hold everybody to a higher standard,” she said. “That’s how we do things.”
It’s a designation that demonstrates our deep commitment to processes that go above and beyond expectations and to our philosophy of striving for continual improvement.
