Giving back to the community and supporting charitable organizations is part of Roscoe’s commitment to excellence. Our yearly United Way campaign is one way we stay connected to our community.
Roscoe’s involvement in United Way dates to the 1950s, when the organization was still known as Crusade of Mercy. Each year, our team members and leaders participate in a campaign to donate a small amount of our weekly paychecks – an amount that Roscoe matches 100%, doubling the contribution to United Way.
“This is part of our culture, part our of heritage,” said Roscoe President Jim Buik, speaking to team members about the history of the United Way partnership. United Way is the longest charitable organization partnership that Roscoe has held over its 100-year history.
Supporting Our Community Through United Way
United Way is an international network of over 1,800 local nonprofit fundraising affiliates that help their local communities by providing funding and resources to a variety of nonprofit organizations.
From the YMCA to after-school programs and more, United Way of Metro Chicago supports a diverse array of nonprofit organizations serving Chicago area families, including over $35 million in pandemic relief and support efforts to over 350 nonprofits last year.
A Commitment that Goes Beyond the Uniform
As a family-owned and local business, the Roscoe commitment to giving back to the community goes deeper than just writing a check. Programs and organizations like the United Way, Sarah’s Circle, Angel Tree, Coat Angels, and more, are a reflection of a community we are proud to be a part of.
