Mat Placement strategy

Roscoe's general placement strategy for rental mats.

Two weeks ago, Roscoe posted on the benefits of having a mat rental program; today we stress the importance of mat placement. If a mat rental system is properly installed it should get nearly 100% of the dirt coming through the door. The reasoning behind this is that 30% of the dirt coming into a building is picked up in the first three feet of matting, while 85% is picked up in the first 15 feet. That adds up to a spotless work environment!

Different mat types serve for different stages of defense against particles and contaminants. The first line of defense is the scraper mats, which also has anti-fatigue mat properties. The heavy and durable rubber stops the toughest of dirt, mud, snow, water and debris from boots and shoes, which is why the best place for these mats are entryways, spillage areas, locker rooms and work stations. All-rubber mats have improved ergonomics which increase employee comfort, reduce fatigue, and result in greater productivity.

The second stage of defense comes in the form of super bristle mats, equipped with stiff bristles that grab 50% more dirt than mats without bristles. Like scraper mats, super bristle mats are great for entryways and are much more comfortable. Consider placing a cost effective anti-fatigue mat at a center work station or out in the plant.

The final stage is image mats, which remove the final dust and moisture from boots and shoes. Image mats are made with 100% Nitrile Rubber that resists curling, cracking and movement. Image mats add an aesthetic appeal so these are best used in entryways, vending areas, in front of elevators, desks, serving tables, and other workstations.

To add an additional layer of professionalism, while branding your business, custom logo mats promote your company’s image throughout your facility.

Roscoe will design a mat system specific to your needs by assessing traffic patterns and seasonal demands, devise a placement strategy to minimize workplace dirt and maximize productivity with our anti-fatigue mats, remove soiled mats, launder and replace them with clean ones.

Roscoe’s extensive mat product line drastically reduces maintenance costs and office equipment breakdown, which translates into a safer and healthier work environment. Scraper, SuperBristle, and Anti-fatigue mats improve employee morale and productivity, while Image and Logo mats provide a presentable work environment.
