This year's Clean Show was the 40th and biggest yet, attracting over 12,000 attendees to the Las Vegas Convention Center from June 5-8, 2017.
According to American Laundry News, the exhibit space was sold out to 481 vendors of all types of products for laundry and linen service providers, covering 227,006 square feet of convention center space – the largest booth space sales since the show was held in Las Vegas 10 years ago.
Six members of the Roscoe Team attended Clean Show 2017. Below are the highlights of what we saw and learned, as well as a word about the show itself.text

Every fall since 1987, the Illinois Governor's Sustainability Award has recognized companies in Illinois that demonstrate a commitment to reducing environmental impact and encouraging a more sustainable Illinois economy.
For 2016, Roscoe is proud to have earned the 30th Annual Governor's Sustainability Award again, which we previously won in 1999. Other Governor's Sustainability Award winners include Abbott Laboratories, AbbVie, Argonne National Laboratory, CDW, City of Naperville, ComEd, The Field Museum, Marathon Petroleum, Quaker Foods, and United Airlines.
"This is not an easy thing to get," said Kevin O'Brien, director of the Illinois Sustainable Technology Center (ISTC). "It takes a lot of work, there is a lot of screening and, frankly, there is a lot of competition for this award."text

Solid Waste Reduction, Resource Conservation & Clean Green Certified
Roscoe was founded in 1921 on the principles of sustainability – laundering and reusing textiles that were once discarded. This foundation of reuse has evolved over the years to include a variety of textiles and provides customers with alternatives to disposable products that find their way into landfills containing undesirable soiled materials. Roscoe installed the first wastewater pre-treatment system in the industry and holds the longest record of sustainability.
"Implementing sustainable best practices is not only smart for the environment, it is smart for the bottom line" remarked owner Jim Buik .... "our team members also feel a sense of pride by knowing they contribute to setting the standard in the industry."text

Roscoe is excited to unveil four brand new trucks in the next couple of weeks. The new trucks purchased from Currie Motors, a valued customer of this Chicago uniform company for over 10 years, are bigger, better and leaner. Not only do the trucks have added benefits for the Route Service Representative (RSR), but also for our customers and the environment. text

The debate is over whether reusable or disposable shop towels are more beneficial. The Industrial Wiper Rule is in its final stages, awaiting the final seal of approval from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). A battle Textile Rental Services Association (TRSA), and other reusable advocates, have been fighting since 2003 for this law to be enacted. text
